My third grade classroom resides in a Title I school in Arizona.
The students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.
My students love learning and growing in our tight-knit classroom. They walk into the classroom excited for what the day holds and thrilled about all of the exploring they will get to experience. My students work best in a well-organized space. Having cubbies in our classroom will allow students to have a personal space to keep their belongings.
My students need cubbies for their backpacks and other belongings. This organizational tool to will help keep their belongings together in a space that is just for them. Currently, we place all backpacks on the floor. This has been a tripping hazard in our classroom. Just like adults, children get frustrated when they cannot easily move through an environment, or find what they need. Adding these cubbies to our class will allow students to have more learning space without unnecessary distractions. They will not have to worry about anything on the floor or any of their belongings getting stepped on.
Each student having their own cubby would help them to practice self-care and organization.
Additionally, cubbies will help students access their possessions more easily.
