Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a public elementary school in Oakland, California, where most of our students come from diverse and low-income backgrounds. My 5th graders are bright, creative, and full of curiosity.
As we begin the 2025 school year, I want my 5th graders to have everything they need to feel supported, organized, and excited to learn.
My goal is to provide them with a well-structured classroom, essential personal supplies, and a printer to help foster academic success and creativity.
Many of them face challenges outside of school, so I work hard to make sure that when they enter our classroom, they feel safe, supported, and fully equipped to learn and grow.
I am requesting organization materials for the classroom, personal supplies for each student, and a multifunction printer to help us get off to a strong start. With these tools, I’ll be able to spend more time teaching and less time solving logistical problems.
