My students need a butterfly starter kit and a butterfly life cycle kit. They also need an ant farm and ant life cycle kit to learn how they all change.

My Students

Our school is in a high poverty school district. The school is a Title I school as well, with all students receiving free lunch. Our school is comprised of approximately 275 students, including preschool.

My students are in a class for differentiation for the normal curriculum.

My students range in ages from Kindergarten to 5th grade, with all of those being of varying abilities. My students have some amazing abilities and talents and can amaze individuals as well as me on a daily basis.

My Project

My goal is to show my kids a real life experience of how butterflies and ants change from the egg to adults during their life cycle. I would like to show them with the life cycle set as well as a hands on real life experience of seeing how it changes during each part of the life cycle from day to day.

I believe my students will love seeing and helping take care of the butterflies and the ants.

The experience will be something that they are likely to remember because they will be participating with the life cycle of the butterfly and the ant not just listening or reading about it.
