This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Currently at Valley High School our students need access to advanced technology. I want to give my students the opportunity to expand their knowledge in various areas that will aide them in being college and career ready. I am the magnet counselor for MSTEM and the Hospitality program and I want to provide my students with that chance.

I serve a total of 365 students and having access to advanced technology will help broaden their horizons.

Having access to various forms of technology also sharpens their minds; especially my students in the MSTEM program.

Students come to me for various reasons: social emotional needs, college and career readiness, and other personal matters. I want to be able to aids them with the best resources available and this will help meet those needs. The poverty rate in this community is very high, therefore, parents and students need access to advanced technology to aide in student success. I meet with large groups of students and parents for various reason such as: FAFSA, conferences regarding grades and attendance, scholarship opportunities, and so much more. Having access to advanced technology will help make this process easier for everyone involved. Being that we are on the west coast, often students want to tour campuses but can only do so virtually; having the technology to help them get the best experience possible would be awesome!! Though I may not be able to help every student that attends Valley High School, this donation will be a great start in the right direction.
