Help me give my students the instruments for success on the first day of school. My students need composition notebooks, lined paper and writing utensils the most. I end up buying them myself when they cannot buy it.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me give my students the instruments for success on the first day of school and all the way to the last day. I battle annually in getting my students to use a fresh composition notebook for their ELA course. Some of the parents of the students are unable to spend money to purchase a plain composition notebook and I have to make numerous trips to stores to buy them for the students who are unable to buy them for themselves. I would prefer to begin my boot camp on a new read and the interactive notebook is ideal to keep them writing and thinking for themselves instead of Googling or using AI for the summaries' answers, journals or writing prompts.
Their notes will be in their notebook too and this will help them stay grounded with the reading/writing strategies we've learned all year long.
