Help me give my students a tent to protect them against the elements at the track and field meets. The exercise equipment will help them with conditioning to prepare for competition.
The students at my school are first generation American born of Haitian parents. The majority of the students on the track and field team speak Creole and English. The students are intelligent and focused on doing well in all their classes. The majority of the students come from families where the parents work long hours to keep the family afloat but do not have extra money for sports.
Our school is a Title I school.
The students spend over ten hours at school each day. Our students are eager to learn. They want to participate in after school activities.
With much needed resources, they will be more successful inside and outside the classroom. The students
My Project
The students that join the track and field team have little or no experience in the sport. The requested equipment will help them prepare for the upcoming season. Last year our tent was torn apart by a very windy and rainy track meet. Because the track meets are all day events, the sun can be challenging.
Students athletes must maintain good grades in order to participate in sports.
The focus on excellence on and off the track helps students to understand the importance of academics while having fun.
The equipment will help us to achieve our goal of making it to the middle school championship.
