This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In our technology driven society, we have just adopted a new math curriculum complete with a website that lets kids practice and learn new skills independently. This interactive website can be projected for the whole class to see increasing the students' excitement and engagement while learning math!

My room is full of energetic first graders who are eager mathematicians!

They are practicing math foundations everyday and learning to be problem solvers. Our school is in an urban environment, with a tremendous school and neighborhood community. Our staff, administrators, parents, and community members work together to provide the best education possible to our hard working and dedicated students.

My Project

I have requested a laptop and headphones so my students can access the online portion of our math curriculum. This curriculum is a common core aligned math program that strengthens math foundations while increasing problem solving skills. This program features a website that includes animated math lessons and interactive problem solving tools that bring math alive! The laptop will allow for the website to be projected during math lesson so kids can visualize and manipulate the math concepts while they're being taught. The headphones will allow my students to hear the online lessons while working on the website on the desktop computers in my classroom.

In a classroom of eager young learners, a laptop can be used in a million ways!

And headphones connect students to many websites that reinforce reading and math skills. In particular, this laptop and headphones will help bring math to life as my students use our online math curriculum to practice math foundational skills and learn to be problem solvers.
