Ms. Jackson from Memphis TN is requesting materials related to food, clothing & hygiene through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need folders and spiral notebooks to be academically successful for the remaining school year. The tissue is needed due to the flu and cold season which dramatically affects most classrooms throughout the school district.

My school is Pre-K thru 5. The students that I teacher elementary grade 4. We are a inner city public school. Many of our students are below the poverty level and receive free lunch. We are classified as Title 1 School. Many of our students only exposure to technology is during school hours.
The students are eager to learn and do so more easily with the right tools.
They love to engage in hands-on learning when possible, but they also have to be prepared for life.
These materials will enable the students to be prepared for school and removes the stress of having to worry about school supplies. This will allow them to primarily focus on the school and homework assignment and eliminates the possibility of them not completing assignments due to a lack of materials. Increasing their chances of success is key for me.
For instance, students can complete their work because they will have the needed materials.
They can better focus on their classwork because they don't have to try and find school supplies which sometimes they are embarrassed to ask for.
Tissue may not seem to be an important school supply, but it is one of the fastest used supplies by the students. They are constantly wiping their noses or needing to go to the restroom to get tissue to wipe their noses which leads to a loss of instructional time for them. The tissue will help them to stay involved with lessons and decrease bathroom interruptions.
