Each year, our school participates in our state's Elementary Battle-of-the-Books competition. In the past, we have been given school funding to purchase copies of book titles that are not in our collection. However, our school has lost Title I funds, significantly affecting the library budget. Thus, we have to seek another source to secure the books for next year's team.
The book titles in this list are those that students will be required to read for the Battle-of-the-Books competition; the library does not currently possess these titles.
Since we often have three or four students reading the same book at a time, most books specify a quantity of 2-4.
Please help to equip our scholars with the materials they need to participate in this great opportunity. Battle-of-the-Books is a great program that encourages reading, community, and a love of learning. After being used for one year, the books will remain in the collection and be used for subsequent competitions.
