Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Being halfway through the school year, we have used almost all of our school supplies.
Working in an inner city school district, I have at least two parents who will bring in materials for their child, while the rest simply can't afford to.
My student's Homework Folders and Centers Folders have ripped, been torn apart, gone through rain, and have crumbled so badly that we simply just need new durable ones! We have run out of stickers and are in need of new scissors for our team caddies. Without the essential materials, how can they learn?
Smelly markers, scissors, folders, laminating sheets, and the rest asked for, will help my students with our remaining lessons and activities that are left to teach such as Science (making plant models from paper plates), Social Studies (using cups and crayons to create three dimensional Community Helpers), our bulletin Boards and our Fun Friday Projects (coloring self-portraits on how we feel).
We want impactful learning to take place and continue until June with the right resources, but I can't do it without your help!
