My Project

When black children see themselves reflected positively in the books they read, it helps to build their self-esteem and create a positive self-image. They feel seen and validated, and this can help them to develop a strong sense of self.

Allowing my students to have access to these books is so crucial because they're able to see the joys of life and the experiences of black culture in books.

It also makes them feel empowered and makes them feel like they can do whatever they put their minds to.

Having these things will greatly help students to increase their exposure to a variety of authors, ideas, and narratives, while at the same time allow them the freedom to direct their own learning. I'd love to see my students benefit from these things from helpful donors like you.
