My creative and inspiring students attend a low-income school, where there are little additional funds for extra resources. A large population of the students at my school is English language learners. Many of them enter school below grade level in reading, writing, and math. They are all eager and excited to come to school and work hard every day to improve, but often are without the resources they need both at school and at home. Your donations will help support my students as they work towards mastery each day!
My Project
My 3rd-grade students are reading every day and it is so great to watch them begin their journey as lifelong readers. I am trying hard to make sure our classroom library is filled with books my students have highly requested, like "Dog Man" and sports fiction books. I am also working to make sure our library reflects the diversity of our classroom, so I am requesting books like the "Sophie Washington Series", and "Mango, Abuelo, and Me." My students are working hard to become better readers and passionate readers. High-interest book donations will ensure they are successful in meeting their goals this year!
