My Project

A class set of Map-Its Paddles will allow the students to practice word mapping with my entire class at one time. Using the paddles will help build my students' orthographic lexicons and reinforce decoding and phonemic awareness skills.

The double sided magnetic dry erase board with phoneme/grapheme mapping is a Science of Reading aligned manipulative which will help my students gain confidence in reading fluency.

The students will manipulate the foam discs based on the phonemes in the words they are mapping or use magnetic letters and dry erase markers to conduct word chain activities that focus on phoneme manipulation, phoneme deletion, and phoneme substitution skills. The boards are extremely versatile to utilize in my classroom for a variety of phonics and phonemic awareness activities which will improve my students' reading and spelling skills.
