Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a moderate-severe special education teacher who teaches 28 high school students with special needs. Majority of my students are second language learners.
I want to create opportunities for engaged learning and prepare my students for the digital world.
They are a joy to work with. They are teens who has many challenges in life and school however they want to connect with friends.
My focus is to help them academically and socially to do their very best at school. Technology surrounds us. I would like to differentiate instruction by using technology through laptops for student learning and engagement.
My Project
These laptops will add fun to learning. Who doesn't enjoy playing games? Lessons can be taught through game-based learning. I can differentiate and modify lessons with technology. In my classroom, I have a wide range of students with special needs.
I will use laptops for small groups where it creates a more engaged environment with little to no distractions.
These laptops will help students learn from math to literacy.
It teaches hand eye coordination and most of all having fun with interactive games and lessons at their level.
By integrating technology into my classroom, I can ensure my students are prepared for the digital world.
