My Project
I am requesting various ELA manipulatives and games for my students who are emerging readers. I teach in a self contained autistic support classroom where there is no set curriculum, meaning I have a lot of flexibility to make learning to read fun and engaging for my students. The games and cards would help me provide enriching centers and strengthen my small group instruction. The decodable readers will be used for independent reading and progress monitoring. I am also requesting headphones as many of my students do not have their own and they use computer programs that read instructions out loud to them that they need to hear, since many are still early readers. Since I do not have a curriculum and am a first year teacher, I make a lot of my resources from scratch which is why I am requesting velcro dots and laminating pouches. Lastly, I am requesting some snacks, kinetic sand, and disinfecting wipes, because they are some daily essentials in my classroom.
