My Project

My job isn't only teaching students how to read, but also to help foster their love for reading. This year they have discovered that reading can be fun and exciting! My different classes have discovered the world of Harry Potter, started the Bad Guys series, and jumped into the mind of Roald Dahl with Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Reading books that interest them has helped with engagement, reading fluency, and reading comprehension.

By reading areas of interest, my students have gone from reluctant readers to excited readers!

They are actively requesting the next book we will read in class. Many students have begun checking out books from the classroom library to take home!
