This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is comprised of our city’s most talented young people, dedicated teachers, and staff. We take great pride in the rigor of our curriculum, the quality of our instruction, and the performance of our students. Our students are serious scholars who constantly strive for success. Their determination ensures that they are the up-and-coming leaders of tomorrow.

To our students, failure is not an option; it is just another obstacle waiting to be overcome.

They believe with hard work and perseverance anything is achievable. They are excited to be in school and look forward to each day's encounters.

My students enjoy being challenged and love challenging their teachers. They not only question everything, they seek out and find the answers.

Our students, for lack of a better word, are exceptional. While our students are serious scholars they are very involved in all aspects of school. They belong to various clubs in the school, are involved in athletics, and tap into the creative minds through the arts. They are on their way to becoming well-rounded and productive members of society.

My Project

With new technologies appearing left and right it is imperative that we encourage our young people to continue to stretch their imagination with a good book. By supplying our students with new contemporary fiction it will allow just that.

Students learn about themselves and the world around them by seeing themselves, their friends, and their community on the pages of books.

New fiction in the library will keep their reading bug alive. Young adult fiction will encourage our students to explore the world on a level they will understand. Our children can only be readers and life long learners if they have books available to them.
