Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students suffer from multiple disabilities and most are in wheelchairs. Most of my students require diapering and help with feeding. What I love about my students is how hard they try to master skills and do things for themselves. The looks on their faces when receiving praise for their accomplishments is so rewarding.
Working with special needs students is very hard and rewarding at the same time.
The illnesses they endure makes things very difficult for them to maintain attendance and still reach the goals set for them.
My Project
My goal for the items I have requested to get my students to school through the rainy seasons in their wheelchairs dry and ready to begin learning. Also with many of my students wearing diapers it is sometime hard to get them as fresh as they would like to be around other peers with confidence.
I believe a good education starts at the beginning of the day.
If we start the day off trying to dry our students off or to find some way to make the feel fresh and clean, we are making things harder for our students.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
