My Students

My students are 5th graders in a Dual Language classroom in NY. Approximately half of them are native English speakers, while the other half are native Spanish speakers. Our school is extremely diverse, serving students from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

My students come to school ready to learn, with the language of instruction alternating between English and Spanish each day.

They are eager readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists. I'm excited to be working with this special group of children as they continue to grow as individuals and complete their final year of elementary school.

My Project

With the new school year approaching, a lot of things remain up in the air. Parents, students, and teachers are trying to prepare for an unprecedented school year, not knowing whether we will be learning remotely or in a hybrid model with some in-person instruction.

The items in this project will help me to prepare to teach my students in either of these possible scenarios.

The easel and markers will help me teach and record whole group and small group lessons in a variety of subjects, and the TPT gift card will allow me to purchase resources for students – such as math games, centers, and interactive notebooks – as needed throughout the school year.
