it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Biology and Living Environment to a wonderful and creative group of boys and girls at a high school in New York. They are excited to learn and come to school each day. It is important to ensure that children enjoy learning. This is what school should be about. The school is located near NYCHA housing and takes up majority of the student body. Students are considered low-income and need a lot of resources in order to make this school year complete! Teaching science to 9th and 10th graders, will require me to utilize a variety of methods to keep students engaged and interested in learning, especially returning back from the pandemic.
Therefore, they need all the necessary materials that will make them successful, independent, and confident learners.

My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The paper, staplers, markers, and other supplies of the sort will be used by the students, so that they may complete classwork. The organizational baskets, pencils and pens will be placed on the shelves in the back of our classroom and will help the instructional process run smoothly from day to day. Students will have access to work they missed, or work they might need for the day. Masks, hand sanitizer and tissues will be there in the classroom for students who may need it. It is important to have these things in the classroom as we are still working through a pandemic and students need to be able to feel safe and healthy in the classroom.
