My Students

My students are very excited about learning this year. They are especially excited about learning to read, write, math, and becoming a class community.

I teach in a low income high, poverty school district within Oklahoma City.

Many of the students who come to my school have parents who are not able to help them at home because they have multiple jobs, don't have the resources, or English is their second Language. My students come to school everyday so eager to learn and grow. These materials would help my students become better readers, writers, mathematicians, and a class community.

My Project

The prompt box will help my class to become a closer classroom community. The box will be used during Morning Meeting and Closing Meeting each day. It will help the students to get to know each other better and encourage them to open up and share their feelings. The classroom will become a more positive learning environment. The storytelling mystery box will help to encourage my students to become more excited about telling stories and writing. They will love taking turns reaching into the box and pulling out the who, what, and where for a story . We can write stories as a class as well as each student will be able to write their own stories. I will be able to use the Nursery Rhyme Readers in small groups. The class set of ten frames will be used for counting, addition, subtraction, and subitizing numbers.

These materials will allow my students to learn and grow by becoming better readers, writers, mathematicians, and a class community.

My class will be a more positive environment which will help encourage my students.
