Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking...Online and IRL!
Help me give my students teacher-created resources to supplement and enrich our ELA studies both online and in person, and printer paper to use for classwork and homework assignments.
My 6th grade English students attend a large public school in New York City, which enrolls students in grades Pre-K through 8th. These children come from a diverse variety of backgrounds, circumstances and prior experiences. This year in particular my students come from an even wider variety of school experiences than in past years-some kids are returning from 5th grade remote learning last year, some were hybrid students, some were homeschooled and some are new to the U.S.
My Project
For this project, I am requesting a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card for a variety of resources to supplement the ELA curricula used at my school. There are many resources that are available in both print and digital formats, which allow for flexibility in case students need to learn remotely due to illness or quarantine at any point during the school year.
I teach English to a variety of learners, including general education students, special education students, gifted students, and English language learners.
Having access to a range of different materials available through the Teachers Pay Teachers site is a great help in allowing better access to the curriculum for more differentiated instruction so that all students can make progress and improve on their ELA skills no matter what their individual starting points may be.
Having a steady supply of paper available to use for class activities and homework assignments is also a great help in preparing materials for students. Many families are unable to afford the extra cost of sending in classroom supplies this year, but this paper is still needed and appreciated in the classroom.
