My students come from a wide variety of social and economic backgrounds. I have made it my priority to create a loving and welcoming classroom community where each child feels important and valued every day.
My students are full of curiosity, eager to learn, explore, question, and build relationships.
It is important they are shown examples of positive social and emotional interactions and coping strategies. Early childhood sets the foundation for each child's education and is each child begins to figure out who they are and how to express their feelings, needs, and wants. It is also the year in which early literacy and mathematical skills are taught and a firm foundation is laid, so each child can become a lifelong learner. Students continue to develop their fine motor and gross motor skills during play based lessons and activities. Lessons are hands-on and engaging to ensure each child learns in the way that is best for them.
My Project
My sweet and curious first graders are so excited to learn to read and write! They have made AMAZING strides since school started and have developed so many new reading and writing skills. The special part of this class it that I had some of them in Pre-K 2 years ago. Seeing the growth has been magical.

Learning to read is difficult! The new picture books will help whole group literacy instruction. The Bob books will be perfect for small group instruction for students on all levels. Bob books will be sent home for students to practice sight words and reading fluency at home. We will also use the beads and pipe cleaners to practice sight words and spelling words. The fun phonics games will be used during literacy centers!
