Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are an inner-city elementary school who live in a high crime, high poverty section of New York City. Everyday we strive to overcome our many obstacles and break out of this circle of poverty. We are hard working, conscientious students and try our best to focus and improve all the time.
Our students are savvy in gathering research using the Internet search engines such as www.google.com and www.yahoo.com.
Many times they become distracted because what they find on theses search engines and with 25 student in the classroom it can be distracting.
With these DVDs the student can demonstrate an understanding of the material as well as the an ability to communicate that understanding effectively through their research reports.
My Project
Our students are eager learners who use the world wide web to complete their research. With the Encyclopedia Britannica DVD the students have a place to find age appropriate SAFE information to complete their research projects. They will be able to have thousands of interactive lessons and activities, educational videos, illustrations, images, timelines, and other multimedia that help simplify complex subjects and engage our students. It will help the various needs of our ESL students and students with Special Needs. The content is well chosen to match both the interests of elementary school students and their curriculum.
The purpose of collecting research for writing gives knew knowledge and information to the writers.
Using age appropriate Britannica Encyclopedia the children can get safe correct information to complete their work. They can have interactive activities that will cover Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and Music at their finger tips.
