My Students

My students come from a small rural area and have limited resources. They are often reluctant readers and tend to need help with their organizational skills. Many of my students are identified as ADD learners and need to have alternative spaces to learn. They tend to learn better when they are not confined to their desks and need assistance with organization. My students work better when they can choose their own place to work.

Students need to be organized and must have a place to write no matter where they choose to sit in my classroom.

They often are working in groups and need guidance in keeping their materials and information organized. Reading and writing are constantly occurring in the classroom and students are busy learning and responding to what they are reading.

My Project

Reading Workshop is an essential part of my classroom and my students need binders to keep their notes, reading responses, vocabulary and goal setting sheets. These binders will help them to keep their materials organized and help them to keep up with notes to study. Our groups are often held on the floor so students need to have clipboards to write on as we are working in our groups whether as a whole class or in smaller groups around the classroom.

Students need to have these materials in order to help make their learning experience one to remember.

These materials will help them to be successful and work on their organizational skills as well as help to improve their reading and writing.
