This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Have you ever been in a crowded room or mall and everything is loud and jumbled and you can't hear yourself think? Well, my students struggle with this everyday, because their disabilities cause them to have trouble concentrating and focusing.
My students are in grades K-3rd with specific learning disabilities in reading and/or math.
My students are eager to learn but they often get frustrated when they are not able to do the work. They are easily distracted and prefer to work without disturbances. They love to use the computer. This allows them to learn key concepts and skills and have fun doing it.
My Project
These resources will help me to reinforce standards that my students are required to know. These programs will help them to understand the material better and to build their confidence while reading and doing math. They are often times overlooked, embarrassed, and withdrawn in their regular classroom because they do not want to be made fun of by their peers. The headphones will allow them to go into their own world of learning without distractions. They will be able to focus and not be distracted by surrounding situations in the classroom. They will be able to work independently and on their own in order to master the skills required of them.
Donations to this project could mean the difference between success and failure to students who really deserve to succeed.
Although they learn differently does not mean they are not deserving of getting the best education available. This project will mean that they will be that much closer to success. Help us become the best we can be and donate to some worthy students.
