Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach emergent bilingual students in an ESL classroom in a Title 1 school. They are hard-working young people who, for the most part, give their best efforts to learning and completing their work every day. That said, they are teenagers which means they are prone to distraction and they never cease to be hungry! I've created a classroom store using Class Dojo points that rewards their hard work and participation with snacks like ramen and popcorn that greatly motivate my learners and keep them pressing their efforts at maximum energy to grind out their best possible reading and writing skills. As they grow in their skills and explore their literature, so too does their unending snack-drive! I'm asking for these snacks to help keep them motivated with their all-time favorite snacks.

Popcorn, bottled water, and ramen have been stellar successes for them pushing them to previously unseen levels of fierce effort.

These snacks will keep them, as they say this year, "locked in" and striving for success in their reading skills and lessons!
