Help me give my students access to nonfiction literacy because my second graders have a difficult time accessing higher level non-fiction reading books because of their academic needs.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Renzo's classroom raised $420

My Students
Our 2nd grade classroom is full of eager and enthusiastic learners! These students are from Queens, NY and greatly lack materials. These students come from a low income area where they lack resources. Our diverse learners range widely in academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Students work on academics and with the right resources all students can access the same information.
The implementation of technology in schools helps close that gap. Technology helps make teaching and learning more meaningful and fun. Students are also able to collaborate with their own classmates through technological applications. We are encouraged to implement technology in the classroom but lack the reliable resources to ensure students have an engaging learning experience.
My Project
Help me give me students access to nonfiction literacy. My second graders have a difficult time accessing higher level nonfiction books because of their academic needs.
These resources would be helpful to add to my listening center.
The listening center is utilized during guided reading, and centers which is a critical time during the day to support student individual reading and learning needs. During our nonfiction units, students needs lots of extra support to access these types of books. Students use the listening center to improve their fluency, and vocabulary by accessing information independently.
