This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Living in an economically strict environment, you must try to always motivate the students as much as possible. We believe in trying to show them that life can and one day, will get better. Our students are so engaged in anything we put before them. We work extremely hard to make things better in our area; for "OUR" children.
There is so much talent in our students, but sometimes the funding get in the way of us truly displaying them.
The students in our school are completely capable of doing so many things. We not only just place them in different organizations/teams, but we teach and prepare them for the real world. We show them that there are so many things to experience in life. Located in the middle of one of the most unhealthy areas in our city causes others to look at our students differently, but we have a great set of kids. We instill in them, "It's not where you're from, its where you're going that matters the most".
My Project
These books will give my students the opportunity to build their reading skills and become more knowledgeable with different genres. March Book Madness is a world wide event that is used motivate students to read and enjoy doing it.
Having these books will give us the ability to get involved with the competition that's centered around the theme "Brave and Bold".
By donating to our students, you give them the opportunity to engage in text that's usual not accessible. The students are able to vote and compete with students around that world, as well will students at their school until there's one book standing!
