My Students
My students are excited to come to school each day and to learn from one another. They enjoy working in collaborative groups and sharing their knowledge with each other. They enjoy using their critical thinking skills to evaluate new information while integrating the arts to show their learning. They get very excited any time we can use technology in the classroom, and they aren't afraid to try something new.
Jane Goodall once said, "You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you.
What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." With this quote in mind, I want to help my students become aware of the impact they are having on the world around them.
My Project
Elephant and Piggie are very sweet friends who teach us to be kind. Books like My Friend is Sad, I Will Surprise My Friend!, and The Thank You Book help us see the importance of having good friends.
Reading with Elephant and Piggie will help my 2nd graders develop a love of reading and understand the meaning of friendship. Elephant and Piggie books draw in the most reluctant readers because the message in each book is communicated clearly through pictures and simple text. I love seeing my students giggle as they read and reread these treasures by author Mo Willems.
