My kindergartners are inner-city children who inspire me to be the best teacher I can be. They come to school every day excited and ready to learn.
I love their excitement to learn new things!
Their eyes light up with each new discovery! They are critical thinkers who love learning through hands-on activities and from one another. They are problem solvers and our next generation innovators.
By proving them with the necessary tools and skills that they need, I know they will be successful.
Comic books allow students to engage in reading by using their imagination and critical thinking skills. These books are colorful, full of graphics, that cause students to pause and explore the pictures. This helps them to make even more meaning of the text. Comics books also provide leverage for all students to be engaged because they cover a wide range of topics and emotions.
I am requesting a TOON book collection to help build their reading skills.
These comic books will be used as a read-aloud whole group, or students can read them during independent reading time. By offering students different reading levels, all students can boost their reading and language skills, and feel a sense of accomplishment.
This collection also comes with lessons plans to used that will help me effectively deliver instruction, along with a guide to comics instruction book for each student. By creating their own comic book, they can put into practice the reading strategies and skills they have learned.
