Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students develop a love for reading over the school year. When they enter 2nd grade, many of them struggle with reading. They don't always enjoy reading because it can be difficult for them. I would like to make reading more enjoyable for them, by letting them relax while they read. I hope to get these comfy cushions and chairs to allow them to read in a comfortable spot.

Using cushions, moveable chairs, and a beanbag chair will help my students increase their reading fluency which will help with their comprehension.

Students will be able to sit on cozy seats, instead of the floor when they read on their own or with a partner. This space will serve as a place where individuals can enjoy a world of books and discover new ideas.
