This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My bilingual fourth grade students enjoy exploring books in both English and Spanish. They are unique because their brains work twice as much to understand two languages. My students need resources to strengthen their bilingualism. My students reside in the North-west side of the Logan Square neighborhood.

All of my students learn in two languages!

Being bilingual has so many benefits not only for the child but for everyone surrounding them. This amazing gift has enabled them to understand the world in two different languages.

My Project

Students will increase reading stamina with style and comfort! It is important to give students the space and equipment required to read independently. I want my students to be excited about reading and reading with partners. The tools requested will enhance their reading experience and engage students to become better readers and writers. Students will have a dedicated 45 minutes of independent reading daily and will need to read in comfort. With this donation, we will have avid readers by the end of the month! I know my students will be excited about this donation and it will also increase their reading engagement. We will have bilingual readers!
