Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child? Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt waiting for and then finally reading the prized next installment in your favorite series. My students share that excitement and joy of waiting for and then finally devouring the newest books in their favorite series. My students are inquisitive, voracious readers who are craving to discover the newest adventures in their favorite book series.
My students are enthusiastic learners, explorers, and passionate readers.
They are our future bilingual leaders!
Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative. For English language learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued. I am a traveling ELD coordinator at 4 K-6 elementary schools in an impoverished urban area. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and rely on our school library and classroom library for high-quality books.
My Project
My project includes iPads and Fire-7 tablet's, which will allow ELL students to transition into 21st-century reading. In turn, these will be setting our students up for future academic success.
This project is education with an edge into the future.
Our students of low income backgrounds are English language learners who have no access to any online technology. This project will allow our students to learn technology skills as they are read.
Students are required to take online tests and these tablets will get us ready. This project will allow students to transition from textbook learning to online book learning.
