Reading WISH LIST for Students

Help me give my students a back to school welcome by providing them with books on their "reading wish list."

My Project

Do you remember staying up all night trying to finish a book that had you so involved in the lives of the characters that you just had to finish it? Well that's how my students feel about the novels they have been choosing and reading for their independent reading time.

My students created a reading wish list for the holidays of books they have not or would not purchase but are interested in reading based on conversations we have had in class.

My goal is to gift each student a copy of the novel that is on their wish list and give them an opportunity to create a digital book presentation after they have finished novel for class. The book presentation would require them to analyze English skills that we review like: plot, characterization, theme, central idea, irony and many more. Our class discussions have sparked an interest in my students to read more diverse titles.
