My Project

I have the amazing opportunity of teaching students who are recent immigrants to the United States. They come from around the globe and speak many different languages, but they are expected to read English in their middle school classrooms.

I want my students to be excited about reading because they understand what they read.

This can happen with graphic novels because pictures speak in every language. With graphic novels and high interest-low level readers, students can begin to develop confidence in their reading and learn to love to read every day.
