My Students
There are so many things I love about teaching first grade. My students are enthusiastic about learning, thoughtful to one another and their hearts are often filled with joy. We are a family! I look forward each day to hearing their laughter, voices, and kind words that fill my heart with joy.
As we all know, the world has changed and so has our first grade classroom.
Many of my students this year are attending school virtually and others attend school in person one week and virtually the next.
I want to give my students a sense of family and togetherness.
My Project
These books will be used with my students both virtually and those attending in person l. All students will receive a copy of book no matter how they attend my classroom this year. We will work on building word recognition, fluency, reading with expression and building comprehension skills together.
As a class, we will read and explore the storybook character Poppleton and his many adventures.
Students will be able to follow along as I read to them and they will have the chance to read aloud to their peers. We all will be able to have a shared class experience even though we are remaining socially distant.
