Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These two class sets of books will help my students with their reading fluency and comprehension skills. For the past three years, my students have not had a solid educational foundation due to unforeseen sickness in and out of the household during COVID-19.
Bringing "Esperanza Rising" and "Island of the Blue Dolphins" into their classroom will help them to understand how overcoming certain obstacles in their lives can help them to move forward.
Each student will benefit from having their own copy of a printed book, by taking it home to read on a daily basis and sharing what they have read with their family and friends.
