My Students

I am lucky enough to spend my day learning from amazing little first grade learners! At our school, 78.5% of our student population is considered economically disadvantaged, but that does not stop our students from doing amazing things!

The children in my classroom range from many different ethnicities and backgrounds, which I feel makes our classroom unique and awesome!

As their teacher, I not only feel the need to meet their academic needs, but also their social-emotional and physical needs as well!

My Project

My first graders have started taking interest into reading chapter books! Every day after lunch, they enjoy listening to me read to them, which has sparked their interest into wanting to read their own chapter books when they complete their work. Help us build our classroom library with some of their favorites!

Reading every day is important to build strong, fluent readers, and if a child is interested in a book they are more willing to want to read!

All of these book collections are great because they spark interest in the children and encourage them to continue reading to find out what happens.
