This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We want to learn about continents and countries. This will help us learn about ourselves and others around the world.

I teach a wonderful group of first graders.

They come from a variety of backgrounds but they all love to learn. Since they attend a high ability magnet, they are expected to go above and beyond their grade level standard. In first grade students must learn the names of the 7 continents but I want them to go beyond that.

My Project

Each student will be responsible for researching a continent with their group. In order to do this I would like to provide them with resources for the research. Books like Exploring North American, Exploring South America and A Look at Mexico will help them with their research and writing project. Along with their research, students will travel to different countries and the stamp pads will be used to stamp their passports.

This project is important to help my students complete independent projects.

They will learn about other countries, continents, and they will learn a lot about each other. Your donation will help my students become "explorers."
