Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every morning I greet my students by saying " I see you " and they respond back with " I am here." My students are eager to learn and come in with a positive attitude every morning. With a smile on their face they strive to build on their reading abilities.
My students come from a zip code chosen for them.
They do not let the materialistic things they lack discourage them from learning. They come to school wanting to learn and grow. At my school we have saying that our school is where the path to college beings and our students believe in that. Unfortunately, our students come to us behind in their reading skills and fluency.
My Project
These resources will allow me to facilitate whole group reading comprehension lesson and reading strategies. In order to employ a leveled literacy approach to literacy instruction I will use these leveled reading books as genre studies. The students will be able to apply their reading strategies to each book as we read them
The requested materials will allow my student the opportunity to read books that they would not have the chance to at home.
It books will allow the class library to grow with more interesting books.
