My students need a library for guided and independent reading in the resource room for students who have a learning disability.

I teach 6th grade special ed for students with learning disabilities. My school is a high-poverty school, where many students have many challenges in their home and community.

My students have experienced failure over and over again. It is very rare that they are told how much potential they have as a student and as a person. I want to give them the opportunity to feel success and learn how to read for the first time in their lives.

My students need a library for guided and indepedent reading in the resource room for students who have a learning disability. This will give them an opportunity to increase their reading level and progress in all their classes. The reading level library will give my students the chance to learn how to read and feel success while doing so. Most of my students are between a 1st and 3rd grade reading level. We need the best resources in order to increase their skills and knowledge in a short amount of time.

Your help will directly impact student achievement and increase their confidence as they make their way through school. Learning how to read is one of the most difficult tasks, and with your help, they will be increasing their reading at a very fast pace.
