Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are filled with so much potential! They are kindergarten through fifth grade students who struggle to keep up with their regular classroom math and reading lessons in a Title I school. Nearly all are African American, Latino, or Hispanic.

They come to school ready to learn despite the adversity so many of them face.

The reality is many families are simply unable to provide many of the daily necessities and modern needs on a consistent basis. My children work hard and deserve to have the same resources as any other student in our large urban district.

My Project

I am asking for reading comprehension activities and phonics activities to use with my students during small group instruction time. These resources will be a wonderful addition to reading time. The students will be able to use hands on visually appealing materials to learn critical reading skills.

The bulletin board decorations will be used to create an attractive classroom environment It is so hard to get funding for these kinds of wonderful materials.

Without the generous donations of Donors Choose I would not be able to purchase these items for my classroom. All items will be used by the students and will make their learning so much more fun and meaningful.
