My students need a rug to sit on comfortably for read alouds and independent reading, rather than sitting in their seats.

My Students
Sitting in the same hard classroom chairs ALL day long is draining. My students need to enjoy some academic time comfortably sometimes throughout the day.
My students represent several different cultures and enjoy sharing them in our classroom.
We are a special needs school and our classroom is our second home. My students need some warmth in their classrooms. Please help make their classroom feel more like home.
My Project
This mat will make reading time a lot more cozy and inviting for read alouds and independent reading. They will be working in groups creating a large mural of their local community on the mat instead of on a cold floor. They will learn how to work closer together as a team while having a specific location for them to gather and work at.
My students will know what it means to be winners.
Having a mat like this donated to their class will mean that other people care enough about them and their education; thus, showing them that education is very important and that it is something to take advantage of and not for granted.
