Help me give my students access to print rich reading material that they can access virtually throughout remote learning. These reading materials will allow my kiddos to become socially aware students while practicing their non-fiction reading skills!
My kiddos are our future leaders! I teach fourth-grade students at a math-based STEM school. My students come from diverse backgrounds where all different languages are spoken. Most of my students have backgrounds where it makes it difficult for them to be present on a daily basis.
My students always do their best and come into class every day ready to grow as learners and innovators.
The best part...they never give up!
This classroom is their "safe place" and it is my job to get them to come out of their shells to have a great educational experience. It is difficult to obtain the necessary resources to keep my students engaged. I love to see when a project comes together so that I can see their faces light up with excitement.
My Project
Allowing my students to have access to this rich reading material will promote growth in not only their non-fiction reading skills but also create citizens in the world who are aware of history and social issues that occur each day.
With these materials, students will learn how to work together, problem solve, and to show perseverance even when things become difficult.
These skills will not only benefit them as growing citizens but will allow them to make a positive impact in the community!
I cannot wait to see their excitement with this project as all of my readers and writers are always interested in what is happening around us! The engagement that can occur with these articles will be endless!
