Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love what I do and I love the scholars I work with. Sadly, many do not have the supplies needed to be successful on a daily basis, and some are dealing with academic struggles that hurt their self-confidence. I want my classroom to be comfortable, where every child feels safe and welcome and knows they matter.

Students see themselves in the pages or get a glimpse of a world they have yet to experience.

Flexible seating will let the students find a spot to enjoy their next great read. The seating also allows for more movement, increasing brain oxygen and keeping kids more alert. This is especially beneficial for students with attention issues. A book shelf will let us organize books and make them easily accessible, letting our readers explore other worlds. The pencil sharpener and theme paper will complete our writing area and keep our kids improving their skills. Finally, the reading guides and fidgets will help our students that need a little extra support. They will help them stay on task, maintain calm and help alleviate the inevitable "jumpy" moments.

Thank you for taking the time to consider helping these awesome kids. Together, we will set them up for success, both this school year and in the future.
