This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Each of my students share a collective enthusiasm towards learning. As we build our community, the one part of our day that we cannot live without is the time we spend reading our class novel. It is the time when we have our deepest and most heartfelt conversations as well as learn important reading skills. Reading really takes us to another world together. I am proud to have a group of compassionate, creative, and eager learners who truly love reading.

My Project

These books will continue to aid in building a literature rich classroom. It will allow us to continue building a strong classroom community through bonding over a great novel. As we finish our first novel of the year, the students now more than ever are connected. As we finish a chapter you hear the cries, “Please! Just one more chapter.” or you see a sea of hands shoot up wanting to discuss what we just read. These books allow us to take our learning to the next level. It makes reading lessons fun and engaging. More importantly it makes reading relevant to the students.
