Reading Success Prize Pack

Help me give my students requested prizes such as pop-its and fidget spinners. Students earn a Reading Success Prize Pack for successfully completing 20+ days of nightly reading 20-30 minutes and recorded on their monthly reading log.

My Project

Literacy is of the utmost importance to me as a librarian/media coordinator.

Reading is the single-most determining factor of a child's future success.

This school year I launched the Reading Success Prize Pack to reward students who submit a monthly reading log with 20+ days completed of 20-30 minute reading. The reading log must be dated and signed by a parent or teacher.

To date, I have awarded 126 Reading Success Prize Packs (RSPP) in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. The RSPP includes a custom school Eagle Reader award and pencil, bookmarks, coloring supplies, and toys. A second grade teacher reported that the RSPP is encouraging more students to complete their nightly reading. In a survey to students, the prizes most desired are pop-its and fidget spinners.
