Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Let me introduce you to my students. All my students are dyslexic and they are amazing. They are usually picked on and called stupid, but despite all of that they are full of life and smile a lot.
Understanding is what they need.
My students need patient teachers, peers and family. They try hard to learn and when they succeed their faces light up. There is nothing more amazing that seeing the face of a student when they grasp a concept.
My Project
My project is simple and the same every year. I want for my students to learn the program to help them read and spell easier.
Color coding is one way that dyslexic students learn.
I would like to create color coded anchor charts, cheat sheets and booklets for them understand concepts they are taught. Most of the items I need are different colors and/or can be displayed using different colors.
Since budgets are cut every year, my classroom isn't a priority because I don't teach a core subject. If passion could be taken into account, we would be funded all the time.
