This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 2nd-grade students are exceptionally creative beings who have worked hard on their art pieces this year. As we approach the last few months of the year, my goal is to help each student create an art portfolio that they can present to their families and take home at the end of the year. My students are also searching for a new space to read and work. With the option of another rug in the classroom, students can find a retreat to play, work, and read.
Students will take pride in their work through a portfolio and find comfort in a new space to read.
Giving students a place to format their art projects helps them take pride in their work and feel a sense of importance when it comes to their creative process. Having this carpet in our classroom will grant students space when they need it, and an additional area for students to read, play, and work.
